If you’re a first-time cat owner, you might notice a few random behaviours that your cat may be portraying.

  1. Nail Biting
Very similar to humans, cats tend to bite their nails when they are nervous or anxious. Anxious behaviours in cats should be checked out by a vet

  2. The Intense Stare
If your cat is lying very still and staring at an object very intensely, it is highly likely that your kitty is about to pounce. This is their natural instinct that they are practicing.

  3. Random sprints
If you’re sitting on the couch, relaxing with your cat and your kitty starts sprinting out of the blue, they’re just getting some exercise. If your cat does this often, it’s highly recommended that you take your cats for walks.

  4. Unladylike sitting
There’s nothing more comfortable than sitting in a position in which your body is completely stretched out (this may sound wrong, but let’s face it, it’s true). That’s how your kitty feels about sitting in an unladylike manner. Just know that she is very relaxed, comfy and happy.

  5. Rubbing against you
Cats will rub against you to show that they’re proud to have you as an owner. It’s their way of showing off their love for you

  6. Uncovered poop
Cats are known to be very clean animals. They would never do their business without covering it up. Unless they’re angry. If you come home to uncovered poop, your cat is not happy.

  7. Twitching ears
This is a sign of anxiety too. Make sure to check out the cause of it.

  8. Short/ Little Meow
When you’ve arrived home, after a long day at work and hear the littlest “meow” from your kitty, this is their way of greeting you- they’re basically saying “hello”

  9. Loud Meow
When you’ve arrived home, after a long day at work and hear the littlest “meow” from your kitty, this is their way of greeting you- they’re basically saying “hello”

  10. Imitating a baby
When your cat begins to make baby-like sounds, they’re just trying to have a conversation with you. It is quite common to converse with your cat in a ‘baby voice’, which is why your cat makes the baby-like sounds.
